If Plan A didn’t work out, the alphabet has 25 more letters!
Johnny King joined me this week to share what he did when life didn’t go as planned. Sometimes we may experience a small event that brings disappointment. Other times, we may get hit with multiple events that force us to stop, reflect and rewrite our vision.
This is exactly what happened for Johnny. In a short three year period, his mom passed away, his wife wanted a divorce and his dad came out. Johnny’s world was completely rocked. As I’ve said before and I’ll share again, any perceived setback is an opportunity for a stellar comeback.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
In our current reality, it is so easy to get caught up, especially by means of social media, with comparing your life, or your progress to others. What I know for sure – comparing your life to anyone else’s will always rob you of excitement and joy. You’re on your own path and you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Johnny shares how his expected timeline didn’t go as planned – and the only thing he could do was to rewrite his vision. He learned the importance of letting go of control and learned to surrender to let life flow.
Grow From Each Experience
Something that helped Johnny was to create a vision board to help focus his thought. In his words, “The storm can roar, but this is the direction I’m going.” He also really embraced how he wanted to feel and let go of how he thought things should look.
Each experience you go through is brought to teach you a lesson. It’s to help you grow and evolve. Embrace the storm and step into your authenticity.
If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan, but never the goal.
