Robert Diaz, also referred to as Deetz, joined me for this week’s episode. We discuss the topic of taking the leap to do what you love. Some people think they can’t make money doing things they enjoy. However, there are countless people out there making money doing things they love; to name a few: chef’s, snowboard instructors, photographers, artists, or in this case, owning a music school.
Deetz shares an important point: life is 80% psychology, 20% mechanics. What does this mean? It’s all about mindset. Language is powerful. Are the words you’re using empowering or disempowering?
During our coaching sessions, when I was stuck, Deetz would help me refer back to my inner child – what did I love? So many people get stuck in the pressure of figuring out their purpose or their passions. Adults overthink. Reflect back when you were younger – what did you enjoy? What comes naturally? Follow those.
In addition, as it’s been said time and time again; you are the average of the people you surround yourself with. Might it be time to change your inner circle? Are you spending time with others doing those things you want to be doing? Surround yourself with individuals or groups who are working towards or already achieved what you desire; learn from them.
Ultimately, it’s a natural human desire to be happy. The last thing you want is to go out with regret. Go after your dreams. Stop wasting your days. And, hey, today’s a good day to start!
