Power and Benefits of Performing Good Deeds
This week I wanted to bring some positivity to light – the power and benefits of performing good deeds. If you watch the news, you might think the world is a scary place. I know the opposite to be true. There is so much goodness and generous people out there – and now, I want good deeds to spread like wildfire!
The holiday season is always my favorite. Things have slowed down, people are in good spirits and there’s lots of giving going around. Humanity is watching out for their neighbor and giving back out of the generosity of their heart.
I want this to be more than a holiday season occurrence. I want there to be more light. And, I know it’s in all of us. The good news – performing good deeds doesn’t have to take a lot of time or even cost a lot of money.
Pay it forward
Here are just a few examples:
- Compliment a stranger
- Send a hand written thank you card
- Give a hug
- Say hello to a stranger
- Pay for the person behind you in a drive thru
There are so many benefits to performing good deeds. For example, it makes you feel good. It may encourage someone else to pay it forward. Did I mention it makes you feel good? By putting good out into the world, more good will come back to you.
This weeks challenge: try your own experiment. Where can you perform a random act of kindness? How can you pay it forward? Have fun with this!
