Lessons in the Pursuit of Excellence
Frank Clark joined me for his second interview, this time sharing lessons in the pursuit of excellence. Not only does Frank possess a zest for life, he’s primed himself with a strong mindset to persevere through any of life’s challenges. More importantly, the lessons he shares, anyone can implement!
To begin, Frank explains the importance of focusing on today and he asks, “How can I have a better day than yesterday?” His focus is to be just 1% better. That 1% better daily makes a huge difference overall. And, his only competition is himself. Frank also takes the time to get clear on what he wants in all areas of life through vision boards and goal setting.
You’ve probably heard this before, but as Frank expressed, if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. For example, if you want to increase your finances or decrease your waist line, those are measurable. As many successful people who are driven and focused do, Frank implements a morning routine.
Not only do morning routines keep you on track and focused, it’s about being intentional and creating a vision for yourself. There’s no one way to have a morning routine – find what works for you. Whether you get up, work out, journal, listen to podcasts or read, be consistent and show up for yourself.
Additionally, in his pursuit to excellence, Frank shares the importance of gratitude and surrounding yourself with others who have a similar vision. For many of us, we have less days ahead of us than we have behind. It’s time to get up, show up and live a life of joy. These are just a few lessons in the pursuit of excellence.
