How to Push Past Your Limits
Jayson Sime joins me this week to share how to push past your limits. I feel that this is something we can all relate to – getting out of your comfort zone is something that holds a lot of people back. Jayson is an ultra runner. If you don’t know what that is, it’s running distances longer than a marathon which is 26.2 miles. Ready for it?! Jayson has completed 100 mile races!
Talk about limits! Some people dread running one mile, but 100?! That’s a lot. When it comes to endurance athletes mindset plays a HUGE role. However, when one can complete a giant goal like running 100 miles, Jayson shared that you become unstoppable.
That’s what pushing past your limits is all about. Becoming unstoppable. You will never know what you’re truly capable of until you try. Setting a big hairy audacious goal will not only get you out of your comfort zone, it will have you leveling up and gaining confidence of what you’re really made of.
Conditioning your mindset is like anything – it takes practice and is not a one time affair. You don’t grow muscles lifting weights one time. Your mindset doesn’t hit unstoppable after one event. By continuously pushing past your limits, you grow mentally, physically and emotionally.
Focus on what you can control
Jayson shared an important note – you have to focus on what you CAN control, not on outside circumstances like the weather or other people. If you get stuck on outside forces, your conditioning will be limited. You are far more capable than you give yourself credit.
