Episode #263

How to Find Your Passion and Live a Fulfilling Life

Marc Siegel joined me to discuss how to find your passion and live a fulfilling life. There’s a lot of buzz in mainstream and pressure to find your passion and purpose in life. The truth is, it’s simply taking inventory of the things you love and enjoy – and doing more of them.

Forward progress

For most, it’s easy to get hung up on the HOW and then never start. Marc emphasizes the importance of having a what as well as a strong why and then trusting that with consistent action and forward progress, the how will always reveal itself. I agree with him 100%.

When you know your why – to help people or provide a product or service you wish you had, that will be your driver on days you just don’t feel like it. Or, when procrastination and distraction set in, having a why can keep you on track.

Accountability is key

Another valuable asset to have in your corner is accountability. Whether it’s a business partner, a mastermind or a fellow entrepreneur, have regular meetings or calls to challenge each other and stay on track. It’s worked wonders for my businesses. You don’t know what you don’t know.

Go all in

Most importantly, living a fulfilling life means you have to go all in. Regret is when you half ass or play the woulda, coulda, shoulda game. Stick to your vision, your driver, and trust the details will work itself out.

Finally, living with passion means you have to connect to gratitude. When you are grateful for what you already have, you make room for more to enter. Marc used to chase the shiny things and with experience he’s learned to find gratitude in the small things – the things that really matter like family and making memories.
