It has become apparent to me over the last decade that drinking isn’t just a social activity, drinking is a way of life for most of my generation. When I took a step back and paid close attention to this, drinking was everywhere and it seemed like no activity was worth doing if booze wasn’t involved.
I’ve changed my social circle a ton over the last couple of years because of this. Can’t we do anything without having to stop for a drink or spend an entire Saturday day drinking? Don’t get me wrong, I like to have a good time, and I’ve come to find out I can have as much fun without alcohol. However, I far more enjoy making the most of the day and being productive and getting a good night’s rest.
This past summer, I lived in San Diego and I was able to reconnect with some old friends. This week’s podcast interview I had the pleasure of interviewing my friend and former sorority sister, Emily Mason. Emily shares her story of her summer experiment: 90 Days Sobriety.
The benefits she experienced were not only physically healing, but emotionally and spiritually too. Emily found a new delight in waking up early and daytime activities rather than partying late into the night.
